Gowalla is a new booming
location-based social networking game, best to be enjoyed from your phone. I created some new spots in Tbilisi and now you can compete to complete the first Gowalla Trip in Georgia called
Old Town Tbilisi Walk by checking into
16 spots in the order you wish, but here is my tested &
recommended walk through1 Start at
Freedom Square, turn into
Leselidze Street and follow till the
2nd spot 24/24 Food Store (handy if you need a tasty Georgian Beer at night ;) Following down the Leselidze Street and try to find to the left the Erekle II Street where find as
3rd spot Cafe Kala and close to it the
4th spot of Manana's Carpet Store. Check out her variation of Caucasian Carpets then go on to the
5th spot that is the famous Sioni Church. Passing close along the Caravanserai you reach the narrow Chardin Street. Try to find here the famous
Art Gallery Baia as the 6th spot. Go on in direction the Mtkvari River and find left of the
7th spot Maidani Square the
8th spot that is the famous Metekhi Church. Looking from Metekhi Church you can not miss the great panorama of Narikala Fortress (the 10th spot) on the way there you cross
Saint George's Church, which is the spot 9. After climbing Narikala Fortress take the walking path in direction the Monument of the Mother of Georgia, which is
spot 11. Enjoy the remarkable views from here and find the path down to the two Betlemi Churches (spot 12) leading back into the Old Town. Coming down the Betlemi Stairs follow straight into Old Town and find the close Gudiashvili Square with the trendy PurPur, spot 13. From here you can make a turn left down the Lermontov Street to reach
the Bread Square as spot 14 and ask your phone to find the close Sayat-Nova-Street, named after the famous Armenian poet, as spot 15.
Sure you are hungry like a Blue Caucasian Mountain Elephant now, head for best local food plus cheap and tasty plus fresh beer or wine at the close Racha (spot 16), a small legend in a basement on Lermontov Street. Have a Gaumarjos for finishing one of the maybe most remarkable walks in your life ! ;)
(You are 250 m away now from your starting point at Freedom Square.)
